Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the website at https://juneau.earth ("the Site"), registering for events, or subscribing to SMS notifications, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Site or its services.

About Us

The Local Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of Juneau is a non-profit religious community organization located in Juneau, Alaska. The Site is operated to serve our community by providing information about events, announcements, and community activities.

Use of the Site

Permitted Use

You may use the Site to:

  • View community announcements and event information
  • Register for community events
  • Subscribe to SMS text message notifications
  • Contact us with questions or correspondence

Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

Event Registrations

When you register for a community event through the Site, you agree to provide accurate and complete information. Event registrations are subject to availability. We reserve the right to cancel or modify events and will make reasonable efforts to notify registered participants in a timely manner.

Participation in community events is voluntary. The Local Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of Juneau is not responsible for any loss, injury, or damage arising from your participation in any event, except where required by applicable law.

SMS Text Message Service

Consent

By subscribing to our SMS notification service, you expressly consent to receive automated text messages from the Local Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of Juneau at the mobile number you provide. Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of participation in any community activity.

Message Frequency and Costs

Message frequency is approximately one to two messages per week. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan and service agreement. We are not responsible for any charges your carrier may impose.

Opting Out

You may cancel your SMS subscription at any time by replying STOP to any message. You will receive one final confirmation message and no further messages will be sent. To re-subscribe, contact us or use the opt-in form on our website.

Supported Carriers

SMS service is available through most major US carriers. We are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages due to carrier issues outside our control.

Community Announcements

Content published on the Site, including event announcements and community news, is provided for informational purposes only. We make reasonable efforts to ensure accuracy but do not warrant that all information is complete, current, or error-free. We reserve the right to update or remove content at any time without notice.

Intellectual Property

The content on this Site, including text, images, and design elements, is the property of the Local Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of Juneau or its content providers. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use Site content for commercial purposes without our prior written permission. Personal, non-commercial use is permitted.

Privacy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available at Policy Page, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site and its services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Local Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of Juneau shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site or its services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall not exceed one hundred dollars ($100.00).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Local Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of Juneau and its officers, members, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Site.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Alaska, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Juneau, Alaska.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
