Overview
The Local Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of Juneau may photograph or video record community events for use on this website and in other community communications. This policy explains how we handle photos and media in two distinct contexts: general community events and youth programs.
General Community Events
Photographs taken at open community events — including holy day celebrations, firesides, community gatherings, and public announcements — may be posted on this website or shared in community communications.
By attending a general community event you acknowledge that photography may occur. We observe the following practices:
- No individual is identified by name in any photo posted on this site
- Photos are used solely for community purposes and are never sold or provided to third parties for commercial use
- We make reasonable efforts to be respectful in our selection and use of photographs
Requesting Removal
Any individual who appears in a photo posted on this site may request its removal at any time, for any reason, without explanation. We will honor removal requests promptly — typically within 48 hours.
To request removal of a photo, contact us at:
Email: juneau@akbahai.org
Subject line: Photo Removal Request
Youth Programs
Photographs of minors participating in children's classes, junior youth programs, and youth-specific activities are governed by a separate and more stringent policy in accordance with guidelines from the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'ís of the Alaska.
- A signed Parental Media Release is required before any photo of a minor may be posted publicly
- Minors whose parents or guardians have not signed a media release will not be photographed for publication
- Signed releases are maintained on file by the Local Spiritual Assembly
- Parents or guardians may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us at juneau@akbahai.org
If you are a parent or guardian and have questions about the media release process for youth programs, please contact us directly.
General Practices
Regardless of event type, we observe the following practices in all photography and media use:
- We do not post photos that could reasonably cause embarrassment or harm to any individual
- We do not identify individuals by name, employer, or other personal details in photo captions or descriptions
- We do not post photos of individuals who have clearly indicated they do not wish to be photographed
- We respond to all removal requests without requiring justification
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
